The first couple weeks of my photo class we have been using film. For those of you who don't know, in order to make prints from film, you must expose light sensitive paper to light for very precise amounts of time and then wash the print in different chemicals baths to develop and fix the image. My first time in the dark room was last semester where I developed my film and made a print for extra-credit. I can't really explain my first time in the darkroom adequately. It was like magic! Oh the excitement I felt when the image slowly appeared as it swished back and forth in the developer. And the scent of those chemicals, while at first overwhelming, becomes comforting and warm. My own little cave of creativity.
Anyways, I have been making prints this week for my class, these are the two I am turning in.
